The work of the Babson Center is made possible by the generous support of alumni, individual benefactors, and corporate donors who recognize the importance of developing a new generation of business leaders equipped for the future with outstanding liberal arts educations and Sewanee’s enduring traditions of honor, community, and respect.
Babson Center’s Honor Roll
The Babson Center is supported by a generous gift from Nick Babson, C’68, and his wife, Mary Babson. Mr. Babson is the current director of the Center and has been a member and chair of the University's Board of Regents.
The Beecken Bridge Scholarship program is funded by a generous grant from David Beecken (C’68). Mr. Beeken is a member of the Babson Center Advisory Board.
The Wm. Polk Carey Pre-Business Program and the Carey Fellows Business Honors Program are funded by William Polk Carey. In 2006, Mr. Carey was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University.
The Graham Executive in Residence program is funded by the late Henry Graham Jr. and Diane Graham, parents of Alex Graham (C ’04) for residencies in leadership and innovation in business. The Graham family has long been committed to civic and business leadership in their community, Jacksonville, Fl.
The Smith Internships and Career Events are funded by Joel Smith III, a 1967 graduate of the University (C’67). He is a member of the Babson Center Advisory Board.
The Humphreys Fund for Residencies in Entrepreneurship and Business Leadership are supported by a generous grant from David and Debra Humphreys. Their daughter, Carol, is a 2009 Sewanee graduate. Mr. Humphreys is the immediate past chair of the Board of Regents of The University of The South.
The Bryan Viewpoints Speakers Series was endowed by Peggy and J.F. Bryan. Mr. Bryan is a graduate of Sewanee, C'65, as are two of the couple's sons, Jeff, C’93, and Cotton, C’95.
