Seven sophomore students have been named as recipients of Class of 2018 Carey Fellowships. The Carey Fellows Program is the honors track for business minors at the University of the South.

Completion of a Carey Fellowship is a mark of distinction for students with career goals in management, consulting, international business, and finance. Carey Fellows receive a scholarship, complete two proseminar courses and spend an entire semester working in a paid, full-time internship facilitated by the Babson Center for Global Commerce.

A certificate awarded at graduation recognizes the completion of additional requirements designed to prepare Fellows for leadership positions in global commerce.

The new Carey Fellows are:

  • Simba Chakanyuka, an economics and mathematics major from Kadoma, Zimbabwe.
  • Jackie Culver, an economics and mathematics major from Whitefish, Mont.
  • Callie Holloway, an economics major from Huntland, Tenn.
  • Addison Jones, an economics major from Charlotte, N.C.
  • David Losson, an environment and sustainability major from Dallas, Tex.
  • Caroline Owens, an economics major from Houston, Tex.
