Corporate Valuation Training Seminar

Sewanee students interested in financial careers learned the basics of corporate valuation--the methodology for determining the worth of a company--at a March workshop. Fifteen students participated in the Saturday event presented by Training The Street, a skills development company for for finance professionals. The Babson Center and the University's Office of Career & Leadership Development sponsor regular seminars and workshops to help students develop  business skills to launch their processional careers.

2013 Business Minors: A Large and Diverse Group

Thirty-eight of Sewanee’s 331-strong Class of 2013 graduated with business minors, according to final figures compiled by the Registrar’s Office. Since 2009, when the first business minors graduated, 103 students have earned business minors. 06.14.13

Six awarded Beecken Scholarships for summer business study

Six Sewanee students have been awarded Beecken Scholarships for summer "bridge" programs at some of the nation;'s most prestigious graduate schools of business. 04.30.13

Healthcare reform is next Viewpoints Series topic

Vicky Gregg, the just-retired CEO of Tennessee's biggest health insurer, will discuss the impact of federal healthcare reform legislation on April 18 at 4:30 p.m. Gregg is the Babson Center's Spring 2013 Bryan Viewpoints Series speaker. 04.07.13

Economics lectures focus on conservation, women who opt out of careers

Michael Price of Georgia State University will lecture March 26 on how the insights of behavioral economics can be used to motivate conservation and investment in "green" technologies. On April 4, Joni Hersch, Professor of Law and Economics at Vanderbilt University will speak on "Opting Out Among Women with Elite Education." 03.26.13

Sewanee students interested in careers that focus on the environment or the entertainment business had opportunities to meet professionals working in the industries at two events co-sponsored by the Babson Center for Global Commerce. 02.27.13
